The goal of the Suspension School program is to offer students with habitual disciplinary referrals a final opportunity to gain credits sufficient to graduate from Sikeston R-6 Schools.
The Suspension School transformed as well in 2003. Instruction opportunities were expanded so that the students could earn academic credits while being placed in an alternative setting. This program provides students with chronic or severe disciplinary issues an opportunity to stay in school and earn credits through the Anywhere Learning System (A+LS). The program has enabled dozens of students to earn credits and return to regular school or to persist to graduation.
